PGG Wrightson Seeds Ltd is a leading seed and grain business with over 500 employees across New Zealand and Australia A focus on research and development has been key to our success Now a fully owned subsidiary of DLF a Danishbased Seed cooperative PGG Wrightson Seeds is part of one of the world s largest Seed companies PGG Wrightson Seeds Ltd seeks to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to take over the financial stewardship of the Oceania business With a formal reporting line to the Group Chief Financial Officer based in Denmark the role has a focus to provide strategic leadership and direction to the Oceania finance team and will work closely on a day to day basis with the CEO Oceania and serve as a key member of the PGW Seeds Senior Management Team This is a businesscritical leadership role requiring a highly commercial yet handson leader who has indepth financial understanding combined with demonstrated strategic and operational awareness Key Responsibilities Provide sound strategic advice and support to the CEO and the Senior Leadership team in all finance matters including financial performance budgeting financial position and cash flow requirements Be in regular communication and take direction from the Group CFO in matters relating to the DLF financial strategy and coordination of the Oceania Strategic Business Unit financial operation to that strategy Understand and mitigate key elements of the companys risk profile Report risk issues to the CEO and provide sound financial solutions Lead the assessment of budgets forecasts and business plan performance including profitability drivers risks and opportunities as well as recommending actions to identify value creation opportunities and improve business outcomes Drive the enhancement of the budgeting forecasting and analysis of policies and procedures across the organisation including financial process improvements and standardisation of global operations Ensure effective and accurate usage of systems across all functions and oversee the implementation of a new ERP system across our multifaceted business Lead the finance and accounting team managing aspects such as accounts payable accounts receivable inventory and the monthly closing process Manage the career and technical skill development of direct and indirect reports Professional Experience A tertiary qualified Chartered Accountant CA or CPA Outstanding analytical problemsolving and presentation skills with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and the ability to engage the CEO and business partners in addressing complex business issues An insightful executive with a strong bias for action someone who rolls up his her sleeves commits themselves fully to the business and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding results Experience leading a highperforming Finance and Accounting function ideally with a track record of upgrading and enhancing systems processes and reporting PGG Wrightson Seeds Oceania welcomes applications from suitably qualified individuals with substantial relevant experience in financial positions of increasing scope and responsibility An understanding of and or affinity with the agriculture sector would be advantageous We acknowledge the sensitivity of your application and all applications will be treated with the utmost confidentiality For further information and or a position description please contact Marcia Smith HR Advisor Email mmsmith pggwrightsonseeds co nz or 64 27 615 8503 Position closes 5 pm Friday 20th March 2020
