Services provided are supported via in-depth knowledge and insight in successful engagement and service support of matua taiohi (young parents) and their tamariki. As a small, thriving and highly innovative service, we are looking to attract those with a proven track record of experience and achievement in improving outcomes for Maori.This position works to develop and execute the organisation’s day-to day operations. Taking a holistic whanau ora approach as to how the organisation works with taiohi, matua taiohi and their tamariki, will require the incumbent to have proven skills honed within an environment or within a service which enables wrap around support. Responsible for all day to day management decisions, and maintaining a high level of service delivery, there is a mix of strategic and operational elements which will very much marry to an individual who is motivated ‘ getting stuck in’ and likes ‘getting things done. Developing a sustainable organisation, will call upon strong business acumen, and sound financial knowledge. Additionally skills to enable risk evaluation, forecasting and sound accountancy practices will be required.Reporting to the Board, with a direct report line of 6 staff, the position will additionally be accountable for liaison and relationships across the health and social service sector, including government agencies DHBs, NGOs, and sector interest groups. Developing and managing relationships with matua taiohi and their whanau, community representatives, local government, whanau, hapu and iwi, will call on your mana, social agility, and your natural ability to put others at ease.Knowledge and experience perquisite for application is to include;Experience in working in a kaupapa Maori service.Passion and a commitment to improving outcomes for whanau.Skilled in the operational translation of strategic plans.Experienced in providing advice on policy, investment and direction.Comprehensive financial skills – experience with annual budget including capital expenditure and contract requirements.Extensive people leadership experience, have been hands on with staff performance and coaching.A high cultural competency, and demonstrated skills in the and practical application to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.Experienced in the building of a strong people culture.Proven stakeholder relationship building experience.Expert report writing and presentation skills.Able to effectively manoeuvre through complex situations.The skills that enable and encourage new funding steams.Experience in compliance and application of legislative requirements.An innovative mind-set, self-drive and the passion to deliver.Ability to think strategically, independently and logically.An industrious work ethic.Reviewing the structure and systems annually to ensure they are fit for purpose and making necessary adjustments, you will be assisting the Board to monitor the organisation’s performance against the annual plan.
