Transpower owns and operates the National Grid - the high voltage transmission network connecting areas of generation with towns and cities across Aotearoa. We connect New Zealanders to their power system, through safe, smart and sustainable solutions for today and tomorrow.
Transpower's Whakamana i Te Mauri Hiko - Empowering Our Energy Future reports outlines that electrification and renewable generation can provide over 50% of the non-forestry emissions reductions to achieve New Zealand's net carbon zero target by 2050 while significantly reducing household energy bills. To enable that future we are building a Data and Analytics eco-system for fact-based decision-making with speed and sophistication.
Our context
A programme of continuous improvement commenced in 2019 and our new Data and Analytics (D&A) operating model confirmed in July 2020, recognises data as the asset it is, and will ensure how we invest in our data creates new value which flows from one part of the business to another.
The Opportunity
A key member of the Transpower Senior Leadership team, you'll report to the General Manager Information Services and Technology, and to the D&A Governance board which includes the CFO, General Manager People and General Manager Grid Development.
You'll lead a distributed model and respective data, information, and analytics and practices encompassing capabilities, products and services and have accountability for ensuring we meet our ethical obligations to our customers, staff, stakeholders and align with regulatory and legislative frameworks. Your remit includes Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Engineering and you'll support Transpower and its supply chain to continue to adopt and expand BIM and digital enablement of core engineering, project delivery and asset operations and maintenance practices.
Driving strategic direction, and further establishing and building the custodianship of data, analytics and information assets, whether structured or unstructured, you'll improve maturity in data and information management, governance, quality and value realisation across Transpower.

What will you bring?

You'll have proven yourself as an engaging integrator who achieves short and medium-term outcomes, while leading change and maintaining momentum organisation-wide over the long term. Experience in an enterprise-level role within a multi-faceted business will have honed your credibility when working with executive leadership teams.
Your CV, previous experience and cover letter will clearly demonstrate
Senior Management experience (people, budget, operational and change leadership) in an Enterprise level role
Strong conceptualising skills, systems thinking and innate ability to influence, integrate (people, process and systems) and drive strategic outcomes in a commercially orientated environment
Knowledge of Data, Information and Analytics Management and how to use it to optimise organisational performance.
Engaging leadership of operational delivery teams and vendors
