Chef de Partie – The Hoi Polloi Bar & Bistro on Colombo streetWe wish to appoint a Chef de Partie.
We are looking for a committed individual to join our Head Chef Kalpesh and his team of professionals.Full commitment to the success of the business and to the standards of performance are expected, with both service and hospitality being key words used on a daily basis.
The objective is to build a strong repeat customer base via consistently high ratings from our guests on all media platforms.This is why we seek to appoint an exceptional person to join our team and live and breathe our values.Working closely with Kalpesh and the sous chef, the ideal candidate will have had or have had recent experience in a very busy, highly rated modern style kitchen and is ready to prove what they can achieve.Your key attributes will be to be a hands-on operator, be reliable, comfortable in accepting responsibility and in making decisions, have a strong work ethic, and relish this opportunity.Duties and Responsibilities:Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, specials etc.Offer ideas for new dishes and, when invited, submit new menu items.Ensure individual section and responsibilities are ready to meet daily, function and special requirements.Ensure the necessary stocks are on hand at the right quality and quantity.Ensure each component of a dish prepared is up to standard, properly cooked, and delivered on time.Follow recipes and instructions carefully.Clean preparation and service areas daily or as required.Clean other areas as required.Be familiar with and follow the Food Control Plan.Ensure ongoing support of standards such that subordinate staff perform their duties correctly.Inform Head/Sous Chef of any shortfalls in stock or ordering needed for the next day.Prepare and cook raw materials to the required standard.Prepare and cook appropriate amounts of stock to meet demand but avoid waste.Treat all staff fairly and with courtesy.Ensure all statutory, as well as establishment, hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to.Update FCP as required.Ensure all maintenance problems are promptly reported to Head or Sous Chef.Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.Why join our team?You will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow recognised industry professionals.We will recognise your potential as we continue to grow our company and the people who work in it.The salary range for this position is between $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience.
