About the role

Reporting to the Director Change, we have a fixed-term opportunity for a highly experienced change specialist to lead change management for our three strategic‘How we keep safe & well'programmes, partnering closely with our Chief Safety & Wellbeing Officer and the Programme Manager. These programmes seek to deliver cultural change to the way we enable good wellbeing in our people and minimise serious harm events by transforming the way we manage critical health and safety risks, and introducing practices and initiatives that enable our people to be physically and mentally well. You'll have full oversite of all projects, providing regular guidance to our Project Mangers and leads, monitoring implementation and ensuring consistency.
Your expertise in stakeholder engagement, relationship brokering and influencing without authority will be critical, as you'll work across all areas of our organisation including with regional stakeholders, unions and with tangata whenua to provide specialist advice and build understanding, ownership and capability with our people to enable the change. This role is closely supported by a dedicated Comms Adviser, Project Coordinator, Safety & Wellbeing specialists across the organisation and it has regular toughpoints across our various business units including HR, L&D, I.T and Infrastructure.

An appropriate professional qualification (e.g. Prosci) and demonstrated change management experience (5+ years) leading the implementation of significant change management initiatives;
Specialist skills, knowledge and experience of how people go through change and the change process;
Communication style and skill that clearly articulates messages and complex issues to a variety of audiences, complimented with active listening skills;
Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills that have proven to inspire individuals to adapt to change with minimal resistance;
Demonstrable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels;
The ability to think and operate strategically and to exercise sound judgement and decision making.
