Foodstuffs South Island Ltd is major wholesaling and retailing cooperative providing a high level of service for its member groups. This includes PAK’nSAVE, New World and Four Square stores, throughout the South Island.
Based in Christchurch, this role will work closely with our Category Managers to ensure space planning of our packaged goods departments is customer and category focused and aligned with key market trends/emerging segments. The success of this role will then be the executing of these requirements through store relays, in collaboration with our Operations team.
What might your day look like?
Working closely with Category Managers to understand key market trends Develop and adopt shelf strategies that complement category trends and revisit strategies to ensure relevancy Utilise shopper data to understand and plan fixtures from a customer point of view Analysing and preparing data for new and existing store relays Working closely with key suppliers and internal staff to plan shelf layouts either for specific stores or for generic category layouts and plans
Key skills for success
Outstanding attention to detail and listening skills A great ability to analyse data, statistics and trends Good communication skills, both written and oral Strong negotiation skills Capacity to adapt quickly to new systems and concepts Experience in FMCG Exceptional knowledge of standard software platforms (E.g. Word and Excel) and an understanding of AC Nielsen and Space planning software would be advantageous
Although this role is primarily office based, there will be at times a requirement to travel.
