The Team:What we do
Come and work in our Older Person's Health and Rehabilitation service within the purpose-built wards at Burwood Hospital! Gain work satisfaction by working with people with physical health needs who require comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation. Be part of both the ward team and the wider Occupational Therapy team and take the opportunities to access professional development through various special interest groups, in-service training and clinical supervision.
We are currently looking for NZ Registered Occupational Therapists to join us on a casual basis, providing support to our busy service!
The Role:Where you fit in
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Working collaboratively and taking a patient centred approach to assess patients and plan interventions that reflect the needs and goals of the individual
Working with patients to enable optimum safety and function during this phase of their recovery
Working with clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, and bringing your holistic skills, enthusiasm and passion to achieve the best outcome for your patients
Working with patients who have had a medical event and require a period of rehabilitation to return safely to the community/home

Your skills will include the following:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their whanau
An ability to quickly and effectively work in different areas of the Burwood campus
One to two year's experience in the practice of Occupational Therapy in rehabilitation with preference in orthopaedic conditions/general medical/surgical conditions/neurological
