Casual Carer Position
We’re looking for a Carer to work on a casual basis. You’ll be caring for two young men flatting together and living with disabilities. The house is located near Hamilton in a rural setting. The position includes weekend and relief/cover shifts. There are 8 hours day shift and 16 hours night shift. This is a casual role of around 8 - 40 hours of work available weekly.
Having an understanding of caring for people with epilepsy, cerebral palsy and other disabilities is beneficial but not essential as training will be provided. You need to be physically fit and strong and have both a current First Aid certificate and full NZ driver’s licence.
We need someone who understands that they are there to support the flatmates with their activities and care. You’ll also need to understand that you are working in their home.
The role provides a great opportunity for anyone studying nursing, phsyiotherapy or occupational therapy.
