Join New Zealand’s largest public hospital as well as the largest clinical research facility.We offer an environment where patient centred care and team work are prioritised and valued.Applications are invited for a full time Adult Cardiologist with specialist training in electrophysiology and device management. This new fulltime post is required to meet the needs of an expanding and reinvigorated EP and Device Service in one of the leading hospitals in Australasia.Collaborate and work within a team of 24 cardiologists, including 4 electrophysiologists. Primary responsibilities are the management of cardiac arrhythmia problems for the ADHB (including EP procedures and device implantation) and the Northern Region. Contribute to the provision of acute general cardiology care on the cardiology wards, referrals and outpatient clinics.We are seeking a colleague who strives to advance the Cardiac Rhythm Service and contribute to the departmental translational research portfolio which will complement current clinical and academic activitiesWhat we offer:Pathway to Senior Leadership - broad scope of skills learning & practiceWorking in New Zealand’s largest clinical research facility.Strong links with the regional cardiac surgical program and national heart transplant, ECMO, ACHD and paediatric cardiology programs.The successful applicant will be eligible for an honorary position with the University Of Auckland School Of Medicine.Close collaboration with the University of Auckland Bio Engineering Group provides opportunity for basic and translational EP research activities.We provide a regional service for all Electrophysiology and Device procedures as well as a national referral service for lead extraction work, complex arrhythmias, structural heart disease and work with the national Paediatric arrhythmia service based here. Conventional and 3D mapping systems, RF and cryo-ablation are part of the EP fleet. We implant approximately 500 devices per annum and undertake approximately 500 EP/ablation procedures. Growth in atrial fibrillation and Adult Congenital Heart ablation work continues.
