Far North District Council is combining their resources with Whangarei and Kaipara District Councils, Northland Regional Council and the New Zealand Transport Agency to deliver transportation services to Northland. Known as the Northland Transportation Alliance their goal is to achieve better outcomes for the economy, residents and road users.
The role of this Shared Services Business Unit is tasked with delivering roading and transportation services across Northland. We also administer transport planning, policy and strategy, asset and network management, capital projects delivery, the regional land transport programme and public transport and road safety initiatives.
In this role you will be part of our Business Unit, made up of like-minded Project Managers. The role has the financial responsibility for budgets as well as tendering, procurement and contract management. You will liaise with all stakeholders including external organisations and our communities.
I a koe – About You
To be successful in this role you will have a professional engineering and project management qualification or at least 10 years’ experience working in a civil engineering environment, along with knowledge and experience of NZTA specifications.
Working to tight timeframes and budgets will be second nature to you, as will being able to communicate simply and clearly to everyone from community boards to members of the public. This role will include monitoring compliance to ensure health and safety requirements are embedded into all facets of the projects. A current clean Driver’s License is also essential.
