We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Duty Manger to be part of our amazing team in our cosy, homely cafe and bar that serves great food, coffee, wine and beer with an open outdoor seating area. We host lunch/evening meals, private & corporate functions which can extend to after hours as well and after work drinks. We have a great selection of cabinet food for people on the go. We also cater for in house functions, outside functions, corporate functions, parties, and other events. This is a full-time, permanent position, from an hourly rate of $29.66 to $35, depending on skills/experience. Please note we are a small tourism town where workload is heavier during the summer season (November-March) where we have a much larger team, and lighter during the winter, from May till August where often you are sole charge so responsible for all duties including cleaning to open and close the business. You will be required to live here both seasons; it is likely that we can secure shared accommodation for you. For this reason, the position would suit single persons or couples (but not so much families) who enjoy the outdoor activities. Your duties will be the following: - Sole charge of premises and staff working when on duty - Lead your team in successful everyday activities via proactive planning and assignment of work - Stock Control and stock rotation - Customer service, including taking orders when needed - Training of bar and restaurant staff - Supervision and delegation of staff Join a great working environment with supportive management and a fantastic core team already in place. The successful candidate will have: - Hold an LCQ and GMC - Have at least 2 years hospitality service, some of it at supervisory and/or management level - A positive attitude, good organisational skills and must be a team player - Ability to work well under pressure with great eyes on detail - A passion for food & beverage and the hospitality industry - Ability to work weekends and public holidays is a must - Outstanding people skills - Knowledge of how to manage a large team If the above sounds like you, please apply today!
