Freshpork NZ is passionate about producing quality New Zealand pork products. We have been delivering 100% New Zealand pork to Kiwis for over 35 years and are the country?s leading pork specialist. From modest beginnings in the early nineties, our family owned business now has a nationwide presence with over 180 staff across five sites.
The teams at our Levin facility work hard to produce premium products. The Value Add (VA) team pack specific cuts of pork for distribution across New Zealand.
We have a rare opportunity for a Supervisor to join and lead our VA team of 11 people. The highly skilled team work at pace and know their trade.
Reporting into our National Production Manager, you will maintain the cohesive environment while bringing value add to our people and product presentation. Through effective and inclusive leadership, you?ll ensure day to day production activities are carried out in an efficient, safe and fully compliant manner.
You?ll understand and manage the balance between production throughput, food safety compliance, and the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff. You will be a proven leader able to motivate and inspire teams. Your hands on approach will see you actively involved throughout each day, slicing and traying up meat, supporting and influencing staff and leading by example.
To be successful in this role you will have:
An experienced background as a Butcher
Proven experience leading a team to succeed and enhancing a cohesive continuous improvement culture
Excellent communication skills
Dedication to Health and Safety
To perform well under pressure and be flexible to respond to production requirements
To be forward thinking, a proven planner with excellent time management
To analyse and critically assess where efficiency can be improved; and take action
Attention to detail and good record keeping
Computer literacy and be competent in MS Office suite
Starting around 5:00am, you?ll work 5 days a week. Normally Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required from time to time.
