About the role:
My client has recently established an Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) and they are searching for a Benefits/Business Case Specialist to help them launch and manage this important part of the enterprise portfolio. The EPO plays a pivotal role in supporting the diverse portfolio of programmes and projects across the organisation. This is a rare opportunity to build this capability from the ground up in an operational environment.
As a Benefits/ Business case Lead you will be responsible for
Establish and support the implementation of a full Benefits Lifecycle Framework at Project, Programme and Portfolio level – including identification, quantification, monitoring and realisation
Maintain project, programme and portfolio benefits management templates, tools and processes to ensure accurate traceability and scalability
Measuring and tracking benefits at the enterprise level
Supporting key stakeholders in the development of robust and compelling business cases
Providing hands on business case training and advice
Conducting quality assurance reviews of business case and proposals throughout the investment approval process

Key skills & experience
Proven experience of working in a project management environment, which could mean you have a business analysis or finance background.
It is desirable you have a recognised project management qualification such as Prince2, PMI frameworks, P3O/P3M3 and ideally a qualification in benefits management.
Minimum 3 years work experience in quality and/or systems improvement, relationship management, project management frameworks and business cases.
Proven experience in Project or Programme Management.
Proven experience in Business case and proposal writing.
Proven experience in Benefits management.
Proven experience of delivering benefits-driven business transformation.
Consulting and supporting a large complex organisation to optimize investment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside the ability to coach/mentor others in facilitating capability building in Benefits and Value activities.
Strong systems and process knowledge skills with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Advanced computer skills (including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio).
Strong stakeholder management experience.
Excellent written and verbal communications.
