The Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Business Analyst. This is currently a 6 months Fixed term opportunity based out of Sydney. Reporting to Manger, Merchant Energy Analytics, you will work very closely with PowerGen data strategy team. The key responsibility of this role is to gather requirements, documentation, and mapping of data sources and processes that support key regulatory and business performance reporting.
The key responsibilities would also include:
Work directly with subject matter experts across the PowerGen sites and Alinta IT to develop a registry of existing PI tags
Coordinate and lead meetings of the Alinta PI Community of Practice to identify business priorities and communicate key outcomes of Alintas PI Remediation Project
Working with key partners and subject matter experts to document Alintas long term solution for an enterprise data repository for time-series data
Business analysis of other Transformation Initiatives as required
Core Competencies:
A balance of technical and business skills i.e. the ability to provide research and analysis with a good understanding of processes and systems
Demonstrated experience documenting and translating processes and data flows
VISIO/PROMAPP or similar experience
Excellent analytical skills with ability to understand complex systems and data flows with little or no documentation
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, and adapt complex information into simple messages
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
High level interpersonal skills capacity to engage and consult with a range of stakeholders and to foster productive working relationships
Desirable:
Experience with data historian software, ideally OSI-Soft PI
Experience in heavy industry, particularly power generation
Familiarity with BI platforms, especially Tableau
