Allied Press Limited is the largest independently owned media company in New Zealand. We operate across multiple media platforms (print, on-line, digital) delivering news, information and entertainment through our various regional and city publications, including odt.co.nz and the well read The News Central Otago, Wanaka Sun and the Otago Daily Times . Reporting to the editors of  The News Central Otago  (Regional Editor) and the Otago Daily Times  (Editor in Chief), this role plays a key role in the growth and strengthening of Central Otago news and these weekly Central Otago papers. The position involves leading the editorial teams in Alexandra and Wanaka and providing daily regional news for the Otago Daily Times . Some of the key accountabilities include: Providing staff support and performance management Sourcing, writing and delegating stories Point of contact for the local community and Allied Press staff Maintaining online presence In addition to your interest in supporting your team to succeed, you will have: Video, photography and website skills Commitment to accuracy and quality This is a full time, permanent position based in Alexandra. Relocation assistance would be considered for the right candidate. As well as working alongside professional colleagues throughout the South Island, there are development opportunities and an opportunity to take ownership of a successful and well supported local news.
