Recognised for its extensive plant collections, native bush, city vistas and beautiful walks, the Botanic Garden team are responsible for the operations and management of the city's Garden, ensuring visitors are provided with an opportunity to enjoy all it has to offer.The Dunedin City Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Botanic Garden Manager to lead our iconic Botanic Garden. As the Manager, you will oversee the strategic management, development, and promotion of the Garden, ensuring its continued excellence and global recognition. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic leader with a passion for horticulture, sustainability, and community development.The Botanic Garden Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Garden, including horticultural management, financial oversight, team leadership, and relationship building with mana whenua, key partners and community stakeholders. You will drive innovative programming and events for the community and ensure the Garden remains a vibrant space for education, recreation, and environmental stewardship.Ideally you will have:A qualification or substantial practical experience in a relevant aspect of the horticultural industryProven ability to lead, support and motivate staff to achieve strategic goalsExperience in preparation of annual estimated budgets, business plans and reportsProven ability to work with interest groups, individuals and other agencies in the community to achieve goalsWhat we offer:5 weeks annual leaveParental leave benefits, including paid partner's leaveAdditional long service leave after qualifying periodsSalary range: $96,913 - $114,015The DCC is committed to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our work serving the citizens of Dunedin will reflect this.How to Apply:If this exciting opportunity sounds like you and you would enjoy supporting DCC to deliver value to our communities, we look forward to hearing from you.
