Our highly skilled team of expert designers, engineers, installers, and technicians have been providing project management, design, construction & installation, refurbishment, and ongoing preventative maintenance and on-call services for over 20 years.With over 80 years' experience in the Industry, OCS provides top quality Commercial Cleaning, Facilities Management and WasteLine Solution services across many different sectors in New Zealand and globally.What you'll do:The Building Management Systems (BMS) Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building automation systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems.
The role may require working in various environments, including office buildings, industrial facilities, and construction sites.Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Perform regular maintenance checks, identify system faults and troubleshoot issues to ensure the BMS operates efficiently and effectively.Monitor BMS to track system performance, identify anomalies, implement corrective actions and reduce operational costs.Offer system performance improvements to clients.Develop and modify BMS control strategies and configurations to optimize HVAC system performance.Set up and program controllers, sensors, actuators, and other system components.Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.Provide technical support and training to clients and maintenance staff on BMS operation and best practices.Integrate BMS with other building systems (e.g., fire alarm, security, lighting).Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for BMS operations.Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.What we're looking for:Our ideal candidate will be able to use our TRUE Values to provide wrap around to our team and clients around the efficiency of their Building Management Systems.Skills & Qualifications needed:Must have a good understanding of Building Management Systems.Understand system description and functional description of various buildings.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate tight spaces.Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or a related field.Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, BMS-specific certifications) are a plus.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field.Proficiency in BMS software (e.g., Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell EBI), programming languages (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), and understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.Relevant certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or specific manufacturer certifications (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls) are advantageous.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
