Behavioural Health Consultant Health Improvement Practitioner Are you a psychologist psychotherapist mental health nurse social worker occupational therapist or a counsellor Do you enjoy making a difference in peoples lives Do you enjoy variety in your work Would you like to be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with a strong team culture Would you like to be involved in creating and improving services to meet peoples support needs better Would you like to work in primary care Are you selfmotivated independent and enjoy working with a variety of presentations We invite you to come and join our team at the leading edge of providing mental health long term conditions and selfmanagement support to our communities Part time and full time roles are available at locations across Auckland Who are we The Wellness Support Team WST is led by and was established in 2012 by pioneering primary mental health psychiatrist Dr David Codyre Our team is the primary mental health service for Tamaki Health Tamaki Health is an innovative and rapidly growing primary care network serving highneeds populations in the greater Auckland region and beyond Tamaki Health s mission is to be the leading primary healthcare provider in the provision of affordable accessible culturally competent and high quality health care services to New Zealand communities Tamaki Health promotes strong adherence to its organisational values work as one strive for a better tomorrow be available take care of each other and for the better good The WST supports Tamaki Health s General Practice teams to better meet patient physical and mental health and addiction needs via a multifaceted programme including provision of evidencebased psychological intervention integrated within primary care A mix of individual couple family and group intervention services are offered in the community and integrated into GP clinics across the network The multidisciplinary team includes clinical and health psychologists psychotherapists nurses nurse practitioner psychiatrist GPs undertaking advanced training in primary mental health peer health coaches mindfulness educators group facilitators and administrative roles With the Government s Wellbeing Budget investment in primary mental health it is an evolving and exciting time to join a passionate and supportive team which is led by Dr Codyre who created the first primary mental health service in New Zealand over 15 years ago The role This role will see you working at our GP clinics providing mental and physical health and general wellbeing support The role is based on the Behavioural Health Consultancy BHC model which has been tested and adapted for the New Zealand setting This a generalist role who works alongside the GP team peer health coaches and community support workers in an integrated manner The role has three aspects 1 Working with GP clients providing brief psychological interventions particularly Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy FACT as well as delivering evidence basedgroup programmes 2 Supporting upskilling and educating the general practice team 3 Supporting local population health by developing group pathways based on clinic needs Provision of training and supervision can also be part of the role You will have A postgraduate qualification enabling you to work therapeutically with clients Registration with a registering body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act HPCA and or full membership with a Professional Association for your profession Experience working with clients and their whanau in a clinical setting Experience in working in evidencebased therapeutic models particularly brief psychological interventions Experience and or enthusiasm for delivering group programmes Benefits Working with a supportive multidisciplinary team supported by a consultant psychiatrist GPs nurses psychologists therapists and peer health coaches Provision of internal supervision and mentoring support with professional development opportunities Ability to be innovative and contribute to the development and growth of the service Opportunities to be trained in new models of engagement and brief interventions and become a trainer based on competencies Flexible hours and work locations available throughout Auckland An exciting and stimulating work environment The successful applicants will receive training ongoing supervision and mentoring Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted For further details please contact Pallavi Mishra Operations Manager Wellness Support Team Mob 64 21 1593034 Email pallavi mishra tamakihealth co nz
