Barista

Alberta’s in Mapua is looking for a BARISTA to join our professional team, start ASAP. Situated at the popular Mapua Wharf, and under new management since October 2017, we are a busy day time café, specialised in coffee, which is roasted right next door. We are also serving gourmet shakes, ice cream and super food smoothies. All our cabinet food is made at our premises and our brunch menu covers vegan options, GF and DF meals, and the traditional French Toast and Egg Bene. Yes, we are all about food!As our BARISTA must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Barista in speciality coffee and in a high-volume environment. You must have the ability to make coffee to a consistently excellent standard- also during peak rushes. You are confident in latte art and know how to brew the perfect cup- short, you are all about coffee. You have a great and positive attitude and you are a team player, as we like to have fun at work- After all that’s where we spend the most of our time! You need to be honest, reliable and able to build a relationship with our customers.Next to making the perfect cup of coffee, you need to get involved with all other aspect of front of house service, plus working at the smoothie bar and the ice cream machine when needed.You need to be able to work weekends and public holidays and are required to start early in the morning.
