experiencing a significant uplift in focus on risk with increased regulation focus on conduct increasing regulatory scrutiny focus on compliance with conditions of registration risk system implementations as well as areas being driven down from Australian and global markets such as technology risk data lineage risk effectiveness three lines of defence process uplift and third party risk KPMG s Financial Services Risk Consulting team has specialists across all of these areas and we are looking for a leader to be part of this team to help transform our controls services Where there is a big uptick in the focus on risk this is inevitably coupled with a follow on focus on controls controls uplift assurance best practice and efficiency We are looking for someone to help us build and consolidate our offerings in this space to act as a subject matter expert and drive our controls best practice and controls assurance business Be Exceptional We are looking for someone with deep banking and finance controls knowledge You will likely have a background in banking financial services operational risk three lines of defence enterprise risk management maybe SOX or COSO and ideally hands on consulting experience You will lead our strategy in this space drive a focus on business development in the controls space be a controls subject matter expert deliver engagements and proposals develop the capabilities of individuals in your team and lead our controls team and wider FS team to deliver high quality client outcomes and forward thinking in the controls space Youll have good knowledge and awareness of topical market issues such as new regulation recent regulator focus areas such as the Australian Governance and Controls self assessments risk and process optimisation and transformation You will have a strong interest in controls automation efficiency and leveraging data analytics and have a good knowledge of process and the ability to interface with data lineage and compliance professionals Your excellent client service mindset business development skills will allow you to add value and build long term relationships with clients identifying opportunities and pursuing them developing thought leadership leading client proposals and developing team capabilities You will build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of your work expertise and judgement as well as innovative approaches Be KPMG To be successful in this role you will have At least 8 years experience in the financial services sector particularly the banking sector ideally both in the New Zealand and at least one overseas market such as Australia or the UK or ideally consulting professional services experience A strong understanding of detailed control disciplines and best practice including RCSA three lines of defence operational NFR risk frameworks assurance bowtie analysis COSO SOX KRIs incident management and bank processes Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to successfully engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and an ability to bring people together develop meaningful relationships integrate services and work collaboratively with a team of experts across the wider consulting teams An ability to stand back and take a holistic view of an issue and articulate a future vision and the skills needed to execute it Experience of providing clients with advice and input on control and risk issues e g controls remediation risk transformation and uplift Oral and written communication is a key strength along with planning project management relationship building networking and influencing skills Positive and flexible attitude and an enthusiasm to embrace new challenges and growth opportunities to gain
