Permanent, full time (40 hours p/w)
An exciting opportunity exists at the Whanganui District Health Board (New Zealand) for an Audiologist to work in our small and highly motivated audiology team providing services to children, young people and adults as well as supporting our newborn hearing screening and Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist services.
We are striving to create a high performing, high quality audiology service with a focus on patient, family/whanau centred care. In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our Audiology service.
You will be joining a part-time audiometrist and visiting audiologists in providing audiology services, working within an enthusiastic and friendly outpatient department.
The Whanganui and Midcentral DHBs are working to establish service alliances across a number of services. As part of this work you will also have the opportunity to work collegially with colleagues at Midcentral DHB to explore opportunities to improve services.
We are committed to supporting and promoting continuing professional development and encourage participation in training, in-services and clinical supervision as well as attending relevant external training courses as required.
As a New Zealand provincial city, Whanganui has something for everyone. It has excellent education and sports training facilities, outdoor adventure pursuits, excellent value-for-money housing and a maximum 15 minute drive from most suburbs to the central business district, or to the Whanganui Hospital. Ours is a beautiful, family-orientated city with a moderate climate, located on the coast along the Whanganui River. With mountains less than two hours' drive in one direction and the capital city of Wellington less than three hours' drive in the other, Whanganui is well situated if you are seeking a change in lifestyle with good career prospects and a hospital striving to provide the best care possible for its people and communities.
