In this role, you'll support the qualification, specification and management of raw materials used across Synlait's product portfolio.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our raw material data is accurate, up-to-date, and meets internal policy, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
This role is essential to ensuring our products are made to the highest standards, and you'll work closely with procurement, technical teams, suppliers and manufacturing to make that happen.Job DescriptionAbout the roleWe're on the lookout for an Associate - Raw Materials Specialist to join us on a 6-month fixed term contract.
In this role, you'll support the qualification, specification and management of raw materials used across Synlait's product portfolio.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our raw material data is accurate, up-to-date, and meets internal policy, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
This role is essential to ensuring our products are made to the highest standards, and you'll work closely with procurement, technical teams, suppliers and manufacturing to make that happen.Key responsibilities of this role include:Supporting raw material specification development, qualification, and performance reviewsActing as a liaison between technical teams, suppliers and procurement to gather RM technical informationMaintaining and updating raw material procedures, templates and regulatory documentationEnsuring RM data integrity for use in formulation systems and across business functionsSupporting cross-functional RM risk management programmes (e.g.
HACCP, allergens, GM, religious compliance)Assisting with raw material setup in SAP and working with NPD on RM solutions for new productsIf you are detail-focused, collaborative, and passionate about technical product integrity - we want to hear from you!Skills And ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:A tertiary qualification (Bachelors or higher) in Food, Dairy, or Nutritional Science (or similar)At least 1 year of experience in a technical or product development role within dairy or nutritionExperience in raw material data management, specification development and HACCP principlesAbility to review supplier data (COAs, specifications), qualify new ingredients and update RM databasesStrong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindsetExperience working with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, and NPDSAP or specification database experience is advantageousTo be included if applicable to role; Applicants outside of New Zealand will only be considered if you have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.About Us – The Synlait WaySynlait is a dynamic, purpose-led milk nutrition company that is Doing Milk Differently for a Healthier World!
