ABOUT THE ROLE
A fantastic opportunity to advance your career has arisen within the Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service (OPRS). OPRS is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with current annual practising certificate (with no scope restriction) to work as one of the Associate Clinical Nurse Managers (ACNMs) of the in-patient wards. OPRS has a total of 32 beds (divided into East and West) and uses a multidisciplinary team approach to provide care for a wide range of patients including those with stroke, orthopaedic, psychogeriatric, complex discharge planning and medical conditions. You will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical coordination of the team to ensure the provision of high quality health care for the patients in the OPRS Ward. You need to be able to enable an effective practice environment through providing clinical and professional nursing leadership, coaching and monitoring standards of practice. The use of expert knowledge and skill in the management of patients with complex geriatric, dementia and mental health conditions and providing direct patient care are essential skills to this role.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to this role along with being able to work flexibly and make decisions confidently. You will act as a consistent and enthusiastic role model for the nursing team, be able to communicate effectively with the Multidisciplinary Team and the wider DHB and inspire the ward staff to provide a high standard of care. Experience in coordinating teams of staff within the health care team is essential to this role.
