Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor (DOE)Location: Risley or MiltonSalary: £35,000 - £50,000Purpose of the jobWe are seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveying professional to join our team based either out of our Risley or Milton offices.
The role will be responsible for supporting the commercial and contract management of our projects, from inception to final account.
You will work closely with project teams and support functions, and build good relationships with our clients and supply chain.
Your enthusiastic and professional approach will be key to successful project commercial outcomes.Why NuviaNuvia - a subsidiary of VINCI construction - is an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally.Nuvia is a performance-driven company that is committed to the development of its people within a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.Reports toSenior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial ManagerKey AccountabilitiesProvide commercial support for the following aspects for projects that operate on a lump sum, remeasurable, target cost, or reimbursable basis:Project cash flow and budgetContractual terms & conditions (both client and supply chain)Interim applications in accordance with contract proceduresChange management, in accordance with contract proceduresNegotiation of contract amendments, including review of terms & conditionsSubcontract account management, including review of interim applications, preparation of payment certificates, management and assessment of potential changes, and final accounting upon completionPreparation of internal cost / commercial reports, including accurate margin forecastingCompliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulationsQualifications And ExperienceDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or in related subject (candidates with appropriate experience may be considered)2+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the engineering or construction industryWorking knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts (particularly Options C & E)Demonstrable experience of carrying out Quantity Surveying duties on engineering and/or construction projectsGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to build good relationships with project teams, clients, and the supply chainAbility to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlinesPC literate in the Microsoft Office suitePourquoi nous rejoindre ?DesirableExperience of using the CEMAR Contract Management SystemCurrent SC Clearance, or ability to achieve SC Clearance through NUVIAFull UK driving licenceFlexibility to travel to other UK offices and sites on occasion as necessaryThe Job Description is a broad statement of the purpose, scope, and responsibilities essential to performing within the role to a required standard.
