Full Time Application Closes 26 Apr 2024 Otago - Dunedin City Purchasing Manager As Assistant Purchasing Manager, working 30-40 hours/per week, you will be responsible for: Purchasing: Support the development and implementation of strategic purchasing plans to ensure the procurement of quality goods and services at competitive prices. Cost-Effective Purchasing: Identify cost saving opportunities, negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, and implement cost-effective purchasing practices. Support the team with difficult and key customers. Stock Control: Oversee inventory levels, conduct regular stock takes , and implement stock control measures to optimise inventory management. With the Operations Manager, organise stock takes. Team Management: Along side the Purchasing Manager, provide guidance, training and support for the purchasing team, to ensure their success and professional development. Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, negotiate contracts, and resolve any issues that may arise to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain. Food Safety and Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations in all purchasing activities, maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment for staff and customers alike. YOU MUST HAVE: Proven experience in purchasing in food, preferably foodservice, with proven leadership experience.
