Assistant Manager / 2iC - Great farm in South Taranaki! Job Description We are looking for an awesome person to join us as an assistant manager / 2ic in South Taranaki near Manaia! The 169 ha farm is spring calving 590 cows, with a fully automated 50 bale rotary shed.This is not an entry level role. Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the day to day herd management tasks such as milking, animal health, cowshed maintenance, day to day pasture management and basic machinery use. You may be a Herd Manager looking to step up or an existing 2iC looking for your next opportunity. It's ok if you're not an expert yet, but you'll be willing to learn and develop your skill set.You will be passionate about the dairy industry and working with cows. You will have a gentle and calm nature around animals and people and be safety minded in all you do. In this role you will gain experience across all aspects of modern dairy farming, be taught well, and provided with opportunities to take responsibility within our operation.You may not have worked in a large herd or high input system, but will have a desire to learn and be keen to hit the ground running. You will be determined to get things done well and efficiently without cutting corners and appreciate all that you learn.
