Your New Role
Australian Military Bank is seeking a result orientated Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and progressive Mutual Bank that has experienced continued growth through innovation and collaboration.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your primary responsibilities will involve assisting with the following duties but not limited to:
Fully responsible for accounts payable function
General ledger management and reconciliation
Daily reconciliation of relevant general ledger, member ledger and branch accounts.
Implement and monitor clearing and suspense account controls, compliance and risk management processes.
Ensuring accurate reconciliation of major bank accounts, clearing accounts and Automatic Teller Machines is completed within established timeframes and procedures.
Assisting in Trust account and reconciliation, fixed asset register, FBT tax and other Adhoc project
About You
Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance ideal but not essential
Strong efficiency and time management skills
Self-starter and willingness to learn
Good Attitude
Ability to critically analyse operational processes and procedures and identify areas for process improvement.
Probity check
As we are an Authorised Deposit Taking Institution there is a requirement to complete the standard range of Credit, Police and Bankruptcy checks prior to commencement of employment.
