We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Strategy Manager Rolling Stock to leading the Rolling Stock Management business unit for Sydney Trains and NSW Trains passenger fleet, work train wagons, major on-track plant and Fleet Maintenance Centre facilities. This includes Rolling Stock asset configuration, operational and system functionality to meet stakeholder requirements of asset safety, value for money, asset availability, reliability and performance.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Asset Planning & Performance, you will also be responsible for developing and delivering the 5 year Rolling Stock Asset Management Plans and the 10 year asset management submission as part of the Sydney Trains funding submission to TfNSW.
In this role you will have key input in to the strategic direction of driving the performance of Sydney Trains.
We are looking for an Asset Strategy Manager Rolling Stock who has:
Lead the development and ongoing review of Asset Management Strategies, long term Asset Maintenance / Management Plans, Annual Works Plan, and forward estimates for the Capital portfolio for Rolling Stock assets within Engineering & Maintenance.
Managed and approved variances to schedule, scope, cost to budget with minimal re-work for all Rolling Stock projects. This includes routine maintenance and major periodic maintenance in the Annual Works Plan and Capital portfolio.
Ensured that Rolling Stock Asset Class programs deliver their optimum benefit in relation to safety, availability and reliability at minimum total cost of ownership over the asset life cycle. This needs to align with the strategic objectives of TfNSW, Sydney Trains, NSW Trains and the NSW Government.
Collaborated with a variety of stakeholders in the development of long term Transport Cluster asset management plans.
Monitored compliance to standards throughout the asset life cycle, implementing improvement programs, providing strategic guidance and commercial advice and forward estimates on future requirements for the development of supply contracts
Essential requirements

Tertiary qualifications and experience in a Rolling Stock related engineering discipline
Extensive demonstrated experience in Rolling Stock Asset Management preferably in heavy rail, aviation or with a consultancy working closely with rail.
Experience in the development of significant funding submissions
Demonstrated ability to manage numerous stakeholders with differing requirements to deliver required outcomes in a financially constrained funding environment.

Essential requirements
