Our client is one of the leading Energy companies in New Zealand, the vital infrastructure that connects homes and businesses with the electricity networks. They believe it’s their job to manage and deliver a high quality, reliable supply of electricity their networks and in order to assist with this and in growing the network, they are looking for an Asset Engineer to join the team.
The job
The purpose of this role is to develop and implement optimal maintenance strategies and plans to ensure that the asset fleets perform safely and efficiently.
Key deliverables are:
The development and maintenance of asset renewal strategies
Assistance with the preparation of the renewals works plan and budgets
Project engineering support and design reviews as required for capital works and complex maintenance projects
Contribute to the Asset Management Plan through the identification of at-risk assets
Overview of project and maintenance delivery
The ideal candidate
You will have varied experience across all aspects of distribution network engineering with a relevant tertiary qualification in mechanical or structural engineering. You will also provide a high level of collaboration with other team members and support the Asset Fleet Manager in delivering a number of strategic projects.
Detailed knowledge of all network assets in a high voltage network environment with a particular focus on lifecycle asset management
Practical experience with construction and maintenance requirements of electrical networks
Developing and maintaining of the renewal strategy and 10-year renewal investment plan for poles, towers and associated equipment
At least 5 years applicable electricity network experience. 5 or more years in overhead fleet management, construction and maintenance or overhead line design
Interpretation of large and complex data sets relating to asset condition and utilisation.
