We are New Zealand’s second largest tertiary provider, dedicatedto whanau transformation through education.Our Quality and Audit team are looking to expand the current pool ofcontract for service moderators to provide professional quality assurance ofassessment services for assessment from levels 1, (foundation) through to 9,(masters) in the following subject areas/levels:
Adult Education and Training (Level 5)
Bi-Cultural Social Services (Levels 3-4)
Bi-Cultural Social Work (Levels 5-7)
Business Management/Leadership (Levels 2-5)
Computing (Levels 3-4)
Rongoa (Levels 4-5)
Primary Teaching (Levels 5-7)
Te Reo Maori (Levels 1-7)
Tikanga (Levels 3-6)
Waka (Levels 4-5)
About the mahi:
Assessment Moderators will:
Review assessment tasks to verify that they arevalid, fair, reliable and manageable;
Review assessor judgements to verify if they areconsistent, fair and valid; and
Evidence is authentic and sufficient to meet thestandard.
Assessment Moderators may be required to enter into a Contract forService based on our standard terms and conditions, including complying withour procurement procedures and any NZQA tertiary moderation standards, whichare based on your experience, skills, and any Treaty of Waitangi principles andTe Reo Maori experience.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Moderate allocated assessment materials and/orassessed work samples
Report to TWoA on moderation outcomes, using thereporting templates provide.
Moderation reports must meet TWoA qualityrequirements and timelines
Identify exemplar assessment material
Respond to queries relating to moderation reports
Carry out other activities supporting themoderation process such as onsite moderation or assessment resource developmentand/or critiquing
Maintain communication with TWoA and positiveworking relationships with TWoA staff.
About you:
You will have:
The technical skills, equipment, and internetcapability required to receive and submit allocated tasks electronically, (e.g.email, OneDrive, etc.)
A recognised tertiary qualification in the subjectarea being moderated
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in qualityassurance of assessment and working with the NZQA Framework, includingassessment, assessment design and moderation; or the equivalent skills and knowledge
Knowledge of the rights and responsibilities of the partners of theTreaty of Waitangi in an educational setting
An understanding of Te Ao Maori worldview values and beliefs withregards Maori teaching and learning frameworks, (where required)
Public Liability Insurance.
