What you will doThe Armourer Instructor will provide specialist knowledge and training, teaching a set of skills through instructional techniques, to ensure that NZDF personnel have attained the necessary levels of competence needed in the performance of their roles. Instructors will prepare and deliver lessons determining the most appropriate method of instruction and mode of presentation, to train service personnel in Weapons Technical Support and armourer trade practice and procedures expected in the NZDF.What we needYou will need to have excellent presentation skills and be confident in presenting to groups of students. The ability to articulate lesson material so that it is easily absorbed and your good working knowledge of training and education theory, instructional design practices and educational evaluation will be vital to your success in this role.Our ideal candidate will be qualified as an Armourer or Weapons Technician and have proven experience with Armourer industry standards. You'll also have knowledge of the NZDF Training and Education Policy and the Systems Approach to Learning (SAL) cycle.You'll be a team player, have strong problem solving abilities and work to deadlines.Your excellent interpersonal skills, ability to relate to others, ability to work independently and demonstrable ability to make decisions using sound judgement with limited supervision or direction are crucial to this role. You will have strong skills in planning and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, along with problem solving abilities are required for this role. Please note: This role requires a Full Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence and the ability travel (including overnight stays) within NZ from time to time for training, conferences and course delivery.
