The Area Manager PM3 is the technical expert responsible for the plant and process performance within the PM3 production area. The role involves the creation of standard work procedures, performance measures, development and modification of process systems, and managing maintenance priorities to achieve consistent and reliable plant performance. The position is responsible for creating and managing the departmental budget along with capital expenditure plans.

The Area Manager PM3 also supports and maintains regular interface with the Operations Teams, working collectively to develop and implement structured improvement plans which drive continuous improvement in alignment with business objectives. The position is responsible for the creation of relevant training material and ensuring the implementation of improvement initiatives can be successfully carried out by the Shift Management structure.

The successful candidate will be required to learn and understand the functions within the production department with the objective being to increase their knowledge to support the wider business structure. All Area Managers are required to participate with the On Call duty roster in which they will be responsible for providing technical and decision making support to the operation outside business hours.

The position is a critical management role within the business and as such proven experience within board manufacturing process is essential as well as having demonstrated management experience. The successful applicant will preferably hold a tertiary level qualification in Papermaking, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.

The following skills and experience are also key to the success of the role:
• Strong papermaking knowledge and background
• Leadership ability with excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of interpreting operational processes and systems
• Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives
• Change management experience
• Experience with financial and budgeting systems
• Minimum 5 years experience in leading board/liquid packaging board manufacturing
