What you will do: To ensure that Wormald Fire Protection's customers are provided with a high level of service and quality workmanship
How you will do it: Regular testing of automatic and manual fire alarms, sprinkler systems, diesel and electric fire pumps, fault finding and repair on existing and new operating systems according to New Zealand safety standards and a degree of new installation work
Undertake annual surveys on fire alarm systems in accordance with NZS4512 undertake annual surveys on emergency lighting systems in accordance with AS/NZS2293, complete annual inspections on passive features in accordance with the NZ Building Code
Operate independently and with those in associated fields to enable thorough completion of each task
Liaise with clients and communicate to the customer the condition of the system and gain approval for the undertaking of repairs
Maintain accurate documentation for both management and clients on a daily basis
Accurate and punctual timekeeping of labour and materials expended
Order and collect the necessary material and equipment to undertake the job
Identify variations from quoted costs to actual costs and report to Supervisor
Develop product knowledge of Fire Alarm systems on an ongoing basis
Carry out the role of call-out technician and be available on a 24 hour/day call-out roster as necessary
Participate in training offered by the company and outside sources to keep abreast and ahead of developments in the industry and to improve your own skills
Contribute knowledge and opinions that will improve the operation of the department
Maintain and clean the company issued vehicle
Pursue all opportunities to obtain additional business and expand our client base
Any other duties as requested by the Supervisor for which you have the appropriate skills
What we look for? Qualifications must be met in line with New Zealand Standard requirements
Knowledge of industry practices, standards, and regulations
Firetech qualifications or ability to join – Level 3
Excellent communication and computer literacy skills
Excellent record keeping and report compiling abilities
High degree of customer service skills and experience
Drivers Licence essential
