About the departmentOur Anatomical Pathology department is a tertiary referral centre for all branches of Anatomical Pathology in the greater Auckland region with the exception of soft tissue and bone tumours. The laboratory receives Histology and Cytology specimens from across all hospital specialities including neurosurgery, neurology, renal medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, paediatrics and transplant surgery for kidney, heart, lung, liver and pancreas transplants. The Cytopathology service encompasses a broad range of gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology including fine needle aspiration samples, CT guided specimens and endobronchial ultrasound guided transbronchial specimens.
About this roleThis is a full time fixed term position for approximately 9 months (starting asap) until July 2020 covering extended leave for another Pathologist. This role is for working up to 45 hours per week, however, the actual hours of work will be negotiated with the Clinical Lead during the interview stage. You will also work on-call and rostered hours to meet the requirements of the service when needed. This role does not involve autopsies, which are under the auspices of the National Forensic Pathology Service.

About youAs the ideal candidate for this role you will be a trained Anatomical Pathologist and will either have or be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand.
