Experienced Registered Physiotherapist with acute ward experience
Full time permanent - 80 hours per fortnight
We have a position available for a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist. This is a replacement role, helping to lead physiotherapy on a day to day basis across acute wards - medical and surgical.
You will be working as part of a motivated and skilled senior PT group supporting the Allied Health leadership. You will add to the established team, provide leadership for junior staff and students, as well as having a clinical case load of your own.
The HBDHB values the role of physiotherapy and supports physiotherapists to undertake further professional development. including up to masters level programmes.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Degree in Physiotherapy
New Zealand Physiotherapy Board annual practicing certificate
Significant acute ward experience
Some leadership experience

You will need to be passionate about working with acutely unwell patients, and have excellent technical knowledge and communication skills to work with patients and whanau during times of trauma. Your model of physiotherapy needs to be strongly relationship based. You will need to be confident in your skills and able to problem solve on the go.
The HBDHB employs almost 30 Physiotherapists who work across the continuum of care and in various settings - emergency department, ICU and acute wards, rehabilitation ward, outpatient, community and primary care settings. They provide a range of services including assessment, treatment and education. Physiotherapists enable individual patients to lead their own care by providing knowledge and evidence based therapy.
