You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and will have responsibility for day-to-day administration and secretarial duties supporting our managers, clinicians and service users. You will be expected to assist the other administrators/secretaries by covering periods of leave and sickness. In return you’ll enjoy support from the team, a collegial working environment and job security.
Previous administration and secretarial experience, a high degree of computer literacy and the ability to work autonomously are essential. Experience with hospital management systems and knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous; however, training will be provided. Duties will range from general office administration, answering and directing calls, organising appointments, data entry, Dictaphone typing of clinical correspondence, and liaising with other hospitals, funding providers, service users and GPs.
This is a permanent full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight. Our office hours are typically between 8.00AM and 5.00PM, Monday to Friday.

You will be a resourceful administrator/secretary with outstanding communication and organisational skills, who is team-focused and thrives in a fast-paced role. It will be important that you enjoy the challenge of a busy office, are a competent typist, and maintain high levels of accuracy, attention to detail and patient confidentiality. This position is located at Nelson Hospital.
