Do you thrive on the action of working in a fast paced environment? If you aren't fazed by emergency room drama then come and join our Emergency Department extraordinaires; you must be able to deal with visible trauma situations, yet be able to remain calm under pressure.
About the role
We have a permanent part-time position available working 56 hours (7 shifts) a fortnight. The emergency admin support team cover the department on a 24 hour day, 7 days a week roster - across early, late and night shifts. We are recruiting for a candidate who has a preference for working predominantly late afternoon and night shifts. However, during the training phase you will be expected to be available to train across all shifts.
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team including surgeons, nurses, other clinical professionals and administration staff. Your primary responsibility will be for reception and administration duties to enable the smooth flow of patients through the department.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: reception and ensuring patient documentation is maintained and up to date. In return you'll enjoy support from the team, a collegial working environment and job security.
ED shifts:
Early
06.45-15.15 hours
07.45-16.15 hours

Late
15.00 - 23.00 hours
16.00 - 00.00 hours

Night
23.00 - 07.00 hours

The commencing salary for this role is $43,580 per annum (pro rata).
About you
It is essential that you have a positive attitude, excellent customer service and reception skills, as well as the ability to learn new tasks quickly and multi-task efficiently in a stressful clinical environment. Previous administration experience, a strong degree of computer literacy and the ability to work autonomously are essential. Experience with hospital management systems and knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous. It is also important that you have the flexibility to work across early, late and night shifts.
