Details of the offer

About us

Metlifecare Papamoa Beach Village is a brand new retirement village and care home, in the wonderful Bay of Plenty. At Papamoa Beach Village, we're passionate about enabling people to get the very most out of their retirement; and we're just as committed to helping our team get the most out of their careers.

About the role

Our dedicated team are looking for an energetic, bubbly and creative person on a part time basis, to enhance the life of our village residents by developing, implementing and managing a variety of recreational activities for our residents. As a motivated "self-starter" and a meticulous planner with a flair for entertaining, you will be responsible for planning trips, games and events and working to a budget.
On offer is a part time, working 22.5 hours per fortnight with the potential to pick up shifts to cover leave.

Skills & experience required

We are looking for someone who values the uniqueness of each person, and understands the value of activity in people's lives. Experience in aged care is advantageous. You will need to be an excellent people person who is able to maximise resident participation in the activities with superb communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English. You'll also enjoy working with the older adult and possess a patient, professional and respectful attitude which is important in our aged care environment.

You will appreciate how important this position is in delivering an outstanding service to our residents, so you will have empathy for the older person; and an industrious, diligent approach to ensuring that the job is done to the highest standards. A great sense of humour and the ability to entertain is a must.
You must have a full drivers license
