Accountant - Nbs

As the accountant in this progressive and unique organisation you will be part of the Finance team, supporting the Finance Manager, who are committed to the delivery of timely and accurate financial information. You will be involved in a broad range of financial functions covering profit and loss, balance sheet, risk and capital. Key accountabilities include:

• Preparing month end journals, reconciliations and management accounts
• Assisting in cashflow forecasts and liquidity requirements
• Month end governance and regulatory reporting
• Ensuring the General ledger is aligned with NZ IFRS
• Assisting with preparation of the Societies year-end Financial Statements and Annual Report
• External reporting including preparing and analysing reporting for externally published financial statements and legislative requirements.

To be successful, you will ideally be CA qualified with a background in accounting, with strong technical skills and experience with a naturally analytical and inquisitive mind. Ideally, you will have gained your experience with a CA or in audit. You will also have strong systems awareness and have the confidence and skills to meet deadlines and provide management information.
