Accountant

Job Description:

Choice, a leading company in Dunedin, Otago, NZ, is seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team at the Associate Level. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in accounting and possess a resourceful and passionate mindset. Strong soft skills in time management and persuasion are also required for success in this role.

Responsibilities:- Manage financial records, including general ledgers, financial statements, and budget preparation- Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations- Assist with audits and tax preparation- Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and procedures- Monitor and reconcile bank statements and financial transactions- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial information and support- Assist with financial forecasting and budget planning- Stay current on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field- CPA certification preferred- 3+ years of experience in accounting- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
