Accountant

This role is a critical component needed within our team This is a handson operational role you will also get involved in financial accounting activities In addition we also help small businesses with registration and start up We are a small close knit firm where each person is part of the family our client base is very divers offering broad experience and our staff are from various ethnicities Responsibilities will include Proficiency in preparing GST Income Tax and Rental Property Tax To provide tax support for our current year provisional tax requirements and solution support around reassessments To provide client support for provisional Tax and to assist with management To take the lead on the interpretation of pertinent tax changes To take the lead with IRD liaison ensuring that issues are dealt with internally and with IRD to our clients favour in a timely manner Participation in Professional Development both at a personal and team level and participation in the overall strategy of the business Must be proficient in MS Excel and Xero Accounting Software Must speak English Cantonese and Mandarin Ideally should have Recent and relevant experience working within a tax team A good sound knowledge and understanding of current NZ tax legislation The ability to hit the ground running in this varied role A high level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent relationship building skills
