Account Manager, Upper North Island

Reports to:National Sales Manager
Position Location: Auckland

How you'll make an impact:

You will have responsibility for the overall management of customers within the specified territory, with the objective of achieving territory financial targets, identifying growth opportunities, and developing strong customer/company relationships.

What will you do?
Account ManagementAchieve and exceed sales territory financial targets including:Revenue and order intake.
Gross Margin (including percentage and contract pricing management).
Expenses within agreed levels & ensure cost effective travel planning.

Grow business in line with company targets:Develop and maintain a sales opportunity funnel in line with targets.
Focus on growing existing accounts (SOW) and developing new business (SOM).
Proactively follow up and assist our customers with appropriate solutions.
Identify opportunities across all business units within Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Ensure that an effective customer contact program is being implemented and managed so as to maximise sales growth & key customer relationships:Call planning and reporting in SalesForce.com.
Build strong relationships with accounts at the influencer/key decision maker level.

Develop and implement key account plans and strategies in line with marketing and sales management objectives:Key product line targets met.
Key promotions and marketing programs implemented.
Key account plan objectives implemented and measured quarterly.

How will you get here?

Education:Tertiary qualification in a scientific field is essential.

Experience:Previous laboratory experience or similar technical support role preferred.
Ability to travel domestically.
Comprehensive knowledge and confidence in the sales process.
Previous Sales experience with accountability for achievement of KPI's and Financial Targets.
High standard of computer literacy.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesA proven background in the area of sales including a strong awareness of the sales and negotiation processes and an ability to sell creatively/competitively on features & benefits.
An ability to develop and execute sales and account plans in line with marketing and key customer objectives.
An ability to think strategically and laterally in order to maximise business opportunities, profitability and customer potential.
An ability to understand technical products and related markets/customers.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to easily build strong customer relationships and rapport.
Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and meet agreed deadlines.
