Our top-ranked, triple-crown accredited University of Auckland Business School is seeking an exceptional academic leader to lead the theme of Sustainable Business, one of the Business School’s four strategic research and education themes.
The Academic Director Sustainable Business is a newly created position and your leadership will ensure the conduct of evidence-based and rigorous research in sustainable business, and its incorporation into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will be motivated by the opportunity to work collaboratively across the Business School to guide academics as they embed business sustainability principles into all Business School courses and programmes. You will engage with industry to enhance our students’ learning experiences, prepare our graduates for the changing future of work, and identify new and innovative employment and business opportunities related to sustainable business.
Our Business School strives to influence policy development, research and thought leadership to enable New Zealand business to support sustainable business policies and practices. Your desire to identify and promote opportunities for industry engagement will further enhance the reputation, relevance and influence of the Business School in this key strategic area.
Our Business School comprises eight academic departments with a strong reputation across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. We support exceptional, internationally recognised faculty who are characterised by their desire to make a difference to business in New Zealand, the global economy and society more generally. Applications are encouraged from scholars with research interests in any area of relevance to sustainable business.
Reporting to the Academic Head in your primary academic discipline, you will have responsibility for the development and execution of business sustainability initiatives that will deliver high quality, relevant and impactful learning experiences that maximise employment outcomes for graduates. Your understanding of academic and business environments and engagement in co-curricular activities relating to sustainable business, will help deliver wider economic benefits.
